When you have hundreds of PDFs, the operating system’s search is slow and often ignores their content. This tool builds a real full-text index instead.
How I built it
PyPDF2 extracts the text of each PDF in a folder, and Whoosh, a pure-Python search library, stores it in an inverted index on disk. Searching then reads the index instead of the PDFs, so results come back almost instantly and are ranked by relevance. The index is built once and reused between searches.
