This policy explains what personal data ajmani.dev collects, why, who it is shared with and what you can ask for. The site is run by Moncef Ajmani. To contact me about your data, use the contact form and mention “privacy” in your message.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics to understand which articles are read and how visitors find them. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location, your browser and your device. I use this information only in aggregate. Google’s processing is described in Google’s privacy policy. You can block Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising

The site shows ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu. More about how Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Comments

When you leave a comment, the site stores the name, email address and website you enter, the comment itself, your IP address and your browser’s user agent. They are used to display the comment (your email address is never shown), to detect spam and to reply to you.

To keep up with spam, comments are checked automatically: simple rules run on the site, and once a day the text of new comments, the name and website entered and the links they contain are sent to an AI model (Claude, provided by Anthropic through OpenRouter) to classify them as spam or genuine and to draft a reply. Drafted replies are only published after I review them. Your email address and IP address are not sent to the model.

If you check the box to remember your details, your name, email and website are saved in cookies on your device for a year so you don’t have to type them again.

Project enquiries

When you send the form on the Hire me page, I receive your name, email address, company (optional), project description, budget, timeline and the page you came from. The enquiry is stored on this website and forwarded to my email inbox through an automation server I run myself. Your IP address is kept for one hour to limit repeated submissions. I use these details only to reply to you and, if we work together, for the project and the related invoices.

Server logs and hosting

Like most websites, the server records basic technical information for every request (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) to keep the site secure and working. The site is hosted on a server in Germany. Fonts are served from this site itself, so no font provider receives your IP address.

Who receives data

  • Google (Analytics and AdSense), as described above
  • Anthropic and OpenRouter, for the text of comments only
  • My hosting provider and email provider, which store the site and my inbox

I don’t sell personal data.

How long data is kept

  • Comments: as long as they are published; spam is deleted
  • Enquiries: as long as needed to answer and, for clients, as long as business records must be kept
  • Analytics data: according to the retention period set in Google Analytics

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to receive a copy, or object to its use. Send your request through the contact form. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to your data protection authority (in Morocco, the CNDP; in the European Union, the authority of your country).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
